Good Afternoon, I just want to send a message out to welcome everyone back. This will be an interesting year, to say the least. A couple things that will greatly help with communications is for everyone to download the Milbank School App and school Facebook pages. We will be communicating via the app, Facebook page, live feed on the website, and this voice messenger system. Building administrators will also be sending out messages throughout the time period as well. We plan to start school tomorrow morning with full staff and students. A reminder, this will be a full day tomorrow. We know that there will need to be adjustments made throughout the year and ask for patience as we work through all the quirks and kinks throughout this school year. Between COVID and the new building, there is a lot of unfamiliar territories. We also want to remind you that our attendance at extra-curricular events will remain fluid throughout this year and will be adjusted on a game by game basis, at least, at the beginning of the year. Students who have bought activity passes will have that money transferred into their lunch account. Please, contact the central office if you prefer a refund. We are asking middle school and high school students to park east of door one this year. When leaving the school we ask those students to either go south or east. All busses will exit to the east this year as well. The majority of elementary traffic will go west and south from the loop. We are asking these things to try and avoid as much congestion as possible. There will be school officials to assist with all of this in the first few days. There are many resources on our new COVID page on the website. There is also a great new page designed for familiarity with the new elementary building, pick up and drop off procedures, and a meet and greet with the elementary staff. Also, please view the Maroon and Gold Calendar for the event we have to transition to this sometime this year. If you do not know which days your child is on, please contact your building level principal. Thanks,

Good Evening, There will be a time adjustment for material drop off for tomorrow. Due to the great participation today, we will be shortening the time tomorrow from 7:30-1:00. If you absolutely cannot make it in during these times, please contact your building level principal for other arrangements. We appreciate your participation in the drop off. This allows us to inventory our materials and go through the electronic devices in preparation for next school year. Elementary age students all have a packet of materials to pick up. Again, all elementary students have materials to pick up and times are again from 7:30-1:00. Thank you!

Good Afternoon. There are a few things for the end of the year as far as school is concerned. We are doing a drop off for materials and school property on Thursday and Friday from 7:30-4:00. Please make sure that all books, library books, and computers are returned. Parking passes need to be returned at this time as well. There will be year-end packets that need to be picked up at Koch School. It would also be helpful if there were a sticky not with the students name and grade were on the materials, but, that is not required. It is sad that this school year was cut short and we are hopeful that we can begin the school year normally this fall. In the event that we cannot, we will re-distribute materials for students again in August. Meal service has been extended through July 31st at this time. We will continue to feed children ages 18 and under through that date at both sites as well as the mobile delivery sites. There will be no meal service on Memorial Day, May, 25th.

Good Afternoon. I know that most of you have heard, but, sadly, I need to inform you that Governor Noem is recommending closing schools for the remainder of the year. The SDHSAA is also cancelling on winter and spring activities at this time as well. We will continue our distance education. Students need to continue to make progress and communicate with your teachers on a regular basis. We will be in communication about future material pickups as well as collecting materials at the end of our regular school year. Distance learning will continue through May 20th. Seniors work will need to be completed by May 15th and all other students by May 20th. Meal service will also continue during this time. There will be no meals on April 10th and the 13th as we were not scheduled to have school on these days. Thank you,
